Rabat, OCT 30 – Moroccan and French diplomacies, under the leadership of the heads of State of the two countries, willembody the spirit of the reinforce dexemplary and exceptionalpartnership, said, Tuesday in Rabat, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
Speaking at a press briefing followinghistalkswith the French Minister for Europe and ForeignAffairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, Bouritanotedthat the diplomacies of the two countries willensurethatthis state of mind, whichprevailed in the exchanges between HM King Mohammed VI and the French President, H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, isalsoreflected on a daily basis in bilateral relations, as well as at the level of regional, international and multilateral bodies.
For Bourita, thisis a new phase and a new stage for thisdeep and richrelationship, in the wake of this new eraopened on Monday by HisMajesty the King and the French President.
The Declaration on the “ReinforcedExceptionalPartnership” betweenMorocco and France, signedMonday in Rabat by HM King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron, defines the principlesthatwill guide this new stage and sets out the governance and key sectors of thispartnership, in addition to the territorial scope of application, hesaid.
This Declarationwillalso guide “our action in the future”, headded, notingthatdespite the difference in diplomatic culture, Morocco and France, whichshare the same goals of stability and development, will, thanks to this new partnership, strengthen the mechanisms of consultation and coordination.
Regarding the Moroccan Sahara, Bouritastressedthat, as part of the impetusgiven to the national cause by HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco’s official mapincludingits Sahara waspublished on Tuesday on the official website of the French Ministry for Europe and ForeignAffairs, noting the expansion of the French consular district to cover the southern provinces of the Kingdom.
“France, throughitsrolewithin the Security Council and itsknowledge of the genesis and evolution of thisconflict, has an important role to play in thiscontext,” heconcluded.
