Moscow, Pakistan talks focus on north-south trade corridor development

MOSCOW, OCT 2 /DNA/ – Alexey Overchuk held a meeting with the Minister of Privatization, Investment and Communications of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Abdul Aleem Khan.

A meeting was held in Moscow between Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk and the Minister of Privatization, Investment and Communications of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Abdul Aleem Khan, during which they discussed current issues of developing Russian-Pakistani trade and economic cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Alexey Overchuk thanked Abdul Aleem Khan for his personal participation in the events of the Russian-Pakistan Trade and Investment Forum, which is being held in Moscow on October 1-2, 2024.

During the meeting, both sides noted the dynamic development of interaction in the fields of transport and logistics, industrial and investment cooperation.

“We welcome Pakistan’s interest in the development of the North-South International Transport Corridor which is becoming one of the most important trade routes in Eurasia supporting better connectivity between countries of Northern Eurasia and the Global South,” said Alexey Overchuk.

“Pakistan views enhancing connectivity with Russia as a vital step towards expansion of bilateral trade,” said Abdul Aleem Khan.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue active contacts through the relevant departments of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to discuss in detail further steps to implement the outlined plans.
