KABUL: The acting minister of foreign affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said that interaction between the Islamic Emirate and the world will improve in the near future.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the national project of the new city of Kabul, Muttaqi noted that the Islamic Emirate has made great progress in various areas.
“There will be interaction with our nation after this, and Afghanistan won’t be the site of negative competition of big powers. Here will be stability, here will be the center of economy, connection, transit and will connect South Asia with Central Asia. It will play a big role in the security, stability and economy of the region,” Muttaqi said.
Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, asked the international community and neighboring countries to take positive steps towards the settlement of Afghanistan.
“I call on the international community, the Asian Bank, the World Bank, the IMF, the United Nations, and the Western world, as well as those who spent 20 years bombing and destroying Afghanistan. They now have a responsibility to actively contribute to the rehabilitation of Afghanistan,” Stanikzai said.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy prime minister for economic affairs, noted that the new Kabul project is an important national project that involves the Islamic Emirate and the private sector and offers both domestic and foreign investors an opportunity to invest.
“With this, in addition to the strengthening of the national budget, there will be housing for people, opportunities to work, ability to buy and sell domestic materials, and for the investors and businessmen, the opportunity of various investments will be provided,” Baradar stated.
According to project officials for Kabul New City, it will be constructed in accordance with international standards.
Speaking at the event, Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi, the prime minister, urged world countries to cooperate with the private sector of the country.
“We expect from neighboring countries in the region and beyond that their private sectors will collaborate with our private sectors to invest in our major national mining and economic projects,” Hanafi said.
This project, which will be finished in four years and contain 6,600 residential units, will have all the urban amenities and requirements of a modern, contemporary city for 40,000 people.
