NAB seeks Al-Qadir Trust records in Bahria Town’s Rawalpindi office raid

ISLAMABAD, MAY 28: A team from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has conducted a raid on the Rawalpindi office of Bahria Town. Sources indicate that the raid was carried out to obtain records related to Al-Qader Trust University.

A joint team of police and NAB officials arrived at the Bahria Town Rawalpindi office in Phase 2. The NAB team was accompanied by Punjab Police and Elite Force personnel during the raid.

Sources reported that the NAB team has sealed the housing society’s office.

According to sources, the NAB team conducted a search of various sections of the Bahria Town office and interrogated staff members.

CCTV video of the raid showed officials pouring over shelves in search for documents.

It is noteworthy that Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz is a named accused in the £190 million scandal.

Tweeting right after the raid was reported, Riaz tweeted that he will not turn approver, come what may.

Two days ago, Malik Riaz Hussain,revealed in a tweet that he has been under immense pressure to settle the case for over a year.

He stated that he would not surrender to any pressure tactics.
