Naqvi engages UAE, Rwanda in key security talks

ISLAMABAD, Feb 06 (DNA):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi actively represented the country at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, holding important meetings with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates and Rwanda to strengthen security cooperation and bilateral ties.

Naqvi met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Rwanda’s Interior Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to advancing partnerships with both nations.

During discussions with the UAE leadership, both sides agreed to expand collaboration in policing, security, and counter-terrorism. Naqvi noted that exchange programmes with the UAE could “significantly help Pakistan benefit from the UAE’s advanced policing system.” The two countries also agreed to develop a joint strategy against online terrorism and terror financing.

In his meeting with Rwanda’s interior minister, Naqvi discussed enhanced cooperation in security and administrative coordination. Both nations decided to appoint focal persons to streamline communication between their interior ministries.

Rwanda’s Interior Minister expressed his country’s desire to deepen engagement with Pakistani institutions.

Naqvi, who also serves as Chairman of the ACC, paid a visit to the organisation’s headquarters during his trip.

The World Governments Summit was attended by global leaders, policymakers, and international experts from around the world.
