Naqvi praises Shanghai police professionalism, seeks to learn modern policing

ISLAMABAD, JAN 5: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Shanghai on the first phase of his official visit to China, where he began a series of engagements focused on security cooperation and policing standards.

During his visit, Interior Minister Naqvi toured the Shanghai Special Police Force Bureau. He was warmly received by the Chief of Command of the Shanghai Special Police Force, who welcomed the minister and briefed him in detail about the bureau’s structure, operations, and modern policing mechanisms.

Mohsin Naqvi reviewed advanced equipment used by the force, including armored personnel carriers (APCs), bomb disposal unit tools, and modern weaponry. He also inspected state-of-the-art water cannons and other specialized operational equipment.

The interior minister observed live demonstrations showcasing the professional skills, advanced training, and operational readiness of the Shanghai Special Police Force. He also witnessed martial arts demonstrations performed by the force, reflecting their high level of physical and tactical training.

Praising the force, Naqvi commended the modern systems adopted to develop the Shanghai Special Police Force along contemporary lines. He described the training standards of the force as exemplary and said they could serve as a model for other law enforcement agencies.

The minister emphasized that cooperation between the Shanghai Special Police Force and Islamabad Police would be further strengthened to enhance professional capacity building and exchange of expertise.
