ATTOCK (MAY-27) – Central leader Pakistan Muslim League (N) former federal minister Sheikh Aftab Ahmed while expressing complete solidarity with the  Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Martyrs Reverence Day) rally in Attock said that the entire nation stands with the Pak Army as the sacrifices of martyrs will always be written in the history with golden words who laid their lives for the defense of our country.

Among others, the rally was also addressed by the General Secretary Pakistan Democratic Justice Party Sheikh Ehanuddin Ahmed Advocate Supreme Court, PML (N) leaders Haji Sai fur Rehman, Sheikh Nasir Mehmood, Saleem Shahzad,  Sheikh Salman Sarwar. The speakers paying homage to the martyrs have also pledged to stand with their families  who rendered their lives to protect the motherland.  They said the day was observed to pay glowing tributes to the nation’s heroes, Ghazis, and martyrs and expressed its unflinching solidarity with their families. Calling the tragic and heart-rending events of May 9 a wake-up call, they said the nation has to identify and expose all such people who wanted to destroy the foundations of Pakistan.”May 9 has drawn up a dividing line between the protectors and builders of Pakistan and those who wish to weaken it.

 They said that the entire nation stands with Pakistan Army like an unbreakable mountain and would continue to guard the dignity and respect of our Martyrs till last breath. They said the martyrs are our benefactors, and nations that fail to remember those who sacrificed their lives for their people cannot exist for long.  Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said the martyrs’ sacrifices served as a guiding light for the nation and emphasised that their mission of protecting and ensuring peace in the homeland would continue. He strongly condemned the violent events of May 9, terming them a black chapter in Pakistan’s history. He eulogized the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Pakistan armed forces, and condemned in strong terms the May 9 attacks on military installations and martyrs’ memorials.

He said that the nation was shocked over these vicious attacks that left deep scars on the hearts and minds of conscious citizens. Meanwhile, several commemorative ceremonies were held in various towns of district Attock  to mark Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Martyrs Reverence Day) in remembrance of the courageous heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the motherland. Quran khwani and prayers were organized besides the visit of the high officials to the graves of martyrs and their respective families. In the ceremony, students of various educational institutions presented tableau, songs and speeches expressing their love and devotion to the armed forces. In their speeches, officials have paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the nation, who sacrificed their lives while defending Pakistan. Speaking on this occasion, DC Attock said the nation is observing ‘Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan’, to pay rich tribute to the martyrs who laid their lives while protecting the motherland and its people. Speaking on this occasion additional deputy commissioner Adnan Anjum Raja has said that the gathering aimed to serve as a platform for the nation to honour the courageous heroes and their indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication. Martyrs of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary and other law enforcement agencies will be remembered. Later, deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza visited the mausoleum of Captain Syed Isfandiar Bukhari as well as the Martyr Police Memorial, laid flowers and offered prayers. Similarly, functions were also held in  Tehsil Municipal Administrations of Hazro Fatehjang, Hassanabdal, Jand and Pindigheb. On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, a grand ceremony was held at Police Line Attock to pay homage to the eternal sacrifices of the brave heroes, in which the parents, widows, orphans and other relatives of the martyrs were specially invited. The Chief Guest was DPO Attock Dr. Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan, SP Investigation Attock Jawaria Jameel, Superintendent Jail Arif Shehzad Gill, DSP Azhar Shabbir, ASP Sundus, PRO Attock Police Muhammad Naeem along with police officers also participated. In the police line after salutation of the Yadgar-E-Shuhadaa police chalk and choband squad, prayers were offered for the martyrs. DPO presented flowers to the families of martyrs participating in the ceremony, loved the orphans and lit candles. On this occasion, the widow of Martyr DSP Shaukat Shah Gilani said that the purpose of Martyr’s Day is to remember the sacrifices of martyrs. The widows, orphans, parents and relatives of the martyrs are paying all their lives And expressed the hope that their support and assistance will be continued in the future as well. DPO expressed with media that the martyrs of the country, whether they belong to any force, are our heroes and our heroes. He expressed his determination that we are always ready for martyrdom for the sake of the country and for the safety and honor of the lives and property of the citizens. DPO said that the orders of IG Punjab But all possible relief is being given to the families of the martyrs and the Ghazis, on this occasion a special message IG Punjab was also delivered in which he paid tribute and saluted the martyrs and all their families.
