New Delhi, AUG 13: After the post-Olympics frenzy, speculation about a possible romantic link between India’s javelin star Neeraj Chopra and ace pistol shooter Manu Bhaker has taken social media by storm. The buzz started after the two were spotted interacting warmly at a post-event gathering following the Paris 2024 Olympics, where they were seen in the company of Manu’s mother.
These rumors have been swiftly dispelled by both families. Manu’s father, Ram Kishan, clarified that his daughter is not of marriageable age and that the speculation is unfounded. “Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. Not even thinking about it right now,” Ram Kishan told Dainik Bhaskar, putting to rest the growing chatter about a potential union between the two athletes.
Further adding to the discussion, Ram Kishan emphasized the familial bond between Manu’s mother and Neeraj, stating that she considers the star javelin thrower as a son, which explains their close interaction. “Manu’s mother considers Neeraj like her son,” he shared, underscoring the strong, but entirely platonic, relationship between the two families.
Neeraj Chopra’s uncle also weighed in on the rumors surrounding the athlete’s marriage plans, stressing that any major news about Neeraj’s personal life would be made public when the time is right. “Just as Neeraj brought the medal, the entire country got to know about it. Similarly, when he marries, then everyone will know,” he remarked.
Both Neeraj and Manu have had a successful yet challenging run at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Manu clinched two bronze medals in her shooting events, while Neeraj secured a silver medal in the javelin throw, following up on his historic gold from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Despite their respective achievements, both athletes remain focused on their careers, with marriage being far from their immediate priorities.
For now, the athletes continue to bask in the glory of their Olympic success, with their families assuring fans that any future developments in their personal lives will be shared openly and without ambiguity.
