Nick Reiner, the main accused in the cold blooded murder of his parents is officially charged in a grand jury indictment.
Rob Reiner, who was an accomplished actor-director, along with his better-half, photographer-producer Michele Singer Reiner, was found dead last December in their Brentwood home.
“The indictment unsealed today also adds a special circumstance allegation that the defendant committed the murders by means of lying in wait,” said the L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman.
“We hope that by having a grand jury return an indictment in this case it will bring us one step closer to a trial and achieving justice,” added Hochman.
Reiner has pleaded not guilty to two charges of murder with the special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder by means of lying in wait.
It comes after prosecutors unsealed the indictment on Wednesday, August 12.
Nick also faces a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife, per the statement released by the L.A. County District Attorney Office.
Reiner, who was arrested by the LAPD on December 14, 2025, hours after dead bodies of Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70, were discovered soaked in blood at their home in Brentwood.
He is being held without bail with a pretrial hearing scheduled for September 15.
Reiner, if sentenced, could face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
