ISLAMABAD, OCT 11 /DNA/ – Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) has commended the media’s crucial role in resolving public issues and vowed to continue collaborating with the National Press Club (NPC) to boost the capital city’s growth and local economy. He made these remarks while meeting with a delegation of National Press Club (NPC) led by Afzal Butt, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), who visited to congratulate the newly elected ICCI office bearers and executive committee members.
Qureshi highlighted the recent visit of Saudi investors and the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Islamabad as evidence of Pakistan’s growing connectivity with friendly nations and increasing investors’ interest which is expected to yield positive economic outcomes and put Pakistan on the path to prosperity.
President Qureshi also highlighted the critical role media plays in shaping the moral values and ethics of the youth. By promoting positive content, media can amplify moral dynamics among young people which is especially important in today’s digital age, where social media platforms have become a significant influence on our youth, he added.
Recognizing the unparalleled contribution of former President ICCI and Secretary General United Business Group (UBG) Zafar Bakhtawari in the trade politics, social sector, Philanthropy as well as the diplomacy, President Qureshi described him the most fittest personality for honoring him with country’s highest civil award.
On his part former President ICCI and Secretary General UBG Zafar Bakhtawari highlighted the close liaison between the ICCI and NPC for the common good of the society, especially the business community.
Afzal Butt, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists while highlighting the decades old close collaboration between the ICCI and NPC said that masses are pinning high hopes with the Business community and the business leaders especially the ICCI leadership must take the lead in the resolution of the economic crisis facing the country.
President National Press Club, Azhar Jatoi while extending congratulations to the ICCI office bearers on behalf of the journalists’ community expressed the hope that the existing relationship between the two vital institutions will strengthen in the days to come.
