RAWALPINDI, 21 SEP (DNA) — Director Excise and Taxation Rawalpindi, Nauman Khalid, has formally launched a One-Window Facility after assuming charge, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aimed at providing greater convenience to citizens in accessing government services.
Under the new system, dedicated staff have been deployed at the reception gate of the Excise and Taxation Office to receive applications and complaints from citizens and forward them to the relevant sections for necessary action. Efforts will be made to resolve citizens’ applications and issues within two days, enabling them to avoid repeated visits to the office.
Director Excise and Taxation Nauman Khalid will personally supervise the One-Window Facility to ensure timely action on public applications and complaints. He said that providing relief and facilitating citizens was the department’s top priority, adding that the entire process would be made more transparent, efficient and effective.
Nauman Khalid further stated that, after the initial phase, the One-Window Facility would be fully computerized. This would improve the monitoring of applications, accessibility of records and timely resolution of citizens’ issues.
He said, “The doors of my office are always open to every applicant. Anyone who comes with a genuine problem will be heard, and every possible effort will be made to provide immediate relief.”
He expressed his commitment to transforming the Excise and Taxation Department Rawalpindi into a citizen-friendly institution where people are treated with respect and provided convenient and timely services. He added that practical measures would continue to be taken through the One-Window system to save citizens from unnecessary visits to government offices and long waiting times. — DNA
