DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 12 (APP/DNA):Acting on public complaints, Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Tank Allah Noor Sherani visited various private educational institutions and ordered the immediate closure of several schools that remained open despite the extreme heat.
According to the district administration, the ADC during the inspection, expressed strong dissatisfaction over the poor conditions at several schools where young children were found sitting in overcrowded and poorly ventilated classrooms amid scorching temperatures.
A large number of parents demanded that schools be closed immediately due to the risk extreme heat poses to their children’s health.
They reported that most private schools in the city are operating out of small residential buildings with tiny classrooms, insufficient ventilation, and no proper airflow or cooling systems.
The parents also alleged that school owners had already issued fee vouchers in advance of the summer holidays, ensuring the collection of fees before the vaccations.
