PIAF praises KPT, businessmen and forces for resilience
LAHORE, MAY 11 /DNA/ — Despite war like situation and heightened tensions with India and attempts to undermine Pakistan’s economy, the country’s cargo operations have continued without interruption. The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) Chairman, Faheemur Rehman Saigol, who is also presently Acting Chairman of the KPT commended the Karachi Port Trust team, the technical staff, and the military for their tireless efforts to keep the country’s ports fully operational amid these challenging circumstances.
Pakistan’s ports are a critical part of the nation’s infrastructure, playing a central role in facilitating trade and commerce. In recent times, with rising geopolitical tensions, there were external attempts to disrupt these operations, but the resilience shown by Pakistan’s port operators, supported by the military’s strategic security efforts, has proven to be unmatched.
PIAF Chairman expressed appreciation for the seamless handling of cargo operations, emphasizing the commitment of KPT’s staff and other stakeholders. “While India claims that Pakistan’s ports have been destroyed, these allegations are baseless. The operations have continued without a second’s pause, proving that our ports remain a vital part of the global trade network,” the KPT Acting chairman stated. “These actions show the strength of Pakistan’s economy and the dedication of the people who work relentlessly to keep it moving forward.”
PIAF Chairman Faheemur Rehman Saigol further highlighted the critical role played by Pakistan’s armed forces, particularly the Navy and Army, in defending the country’s economic infrastructure. “Despite limited resources and a weaker economy, Pakistan’s military has stepped up to safeguard our ports and ensure that the nation’s lifelines remain intact. Their courage and dedication in the face of external threats are commendable,” Saigol added. He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between the military and the civilian sectors in ensuring national security and economic stability. “The smooth operation of our ports and the uninterrupted handling of cargo is a direct result of the brave actions of our armed forces and the unwavering commitment of the KPT team,” Saigol said.
He stressed that the smooth operation of Pakistan’s ports amidst these trying times was not only due to the resilience of the KPT team but also a reflection of the collective strength of the nation. “The cargo operations are proof that we, as a nation, are standing strong against any attempt to destabilize our economy,” Saigol remarked.
Nasrullah Mughal, Senior Vice Chairman of PIAF, expressed solidarity with the military and affirmed that the business community is fully prepared to face any challenge. “As businessmen, we understand the critical importance of keeping our economic borders secure. We stand united with our armed forces to protect Pakistan’s economic sovereignty,” Mughal stated.
Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, Vice Chairman of PIAF, emphasized the role of the business community in defending the country’s economic frontiers. “Just as the army defends our physical borders, we, the businessmen and traders, protect Pakistan’s economic boundaries.
The leadership of PIAF also called on all sectors of society to remain united and continue contributing to Pakistan’s economic stability. “The military and business community must work together to withstand these challenges. As long as we continue our operations smoothly and stay resilient, we will overcome any obstacles that come our way,” Saigol concluded.
