Pakistan announces 4,500 more scholarships for Afghan students

ISLAMABAD, NOV 07 (DNA) — The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced another 4,500 scholarships for Afghan students. The announcement of scholarships launched the third phase of Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Programme under which Afghan students will be sponsored for imparting education in Pakistani universities.

The announcement was made by Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Madad Ali Sindhi at a graduation ceremony for Afghan students who have completed their studies under Phase-II of the programme.

These students have graduated from various disciplines including Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Management, and Computer Science. Addressing the Afghan students, the minister emphasized the importance of their role in Afghanistan’s development.

 He urged them to identify the challenges facing their country and utilize their intellectual capabilities to seek solutions. He also acknowledged the crucial role of HEC in providing higher education opportunities for Afghan students in Pakistan. — DNA
