ISLAMABAD, FEB 3: Pakistan and the European Union have finalised a TRQ apportionment agreement aimed at ensuring continuity and legal certainty in bilateral trade following the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union.
Pakistan and the European Union have formally signed the TRQ apportionment agreement to safeguard ongoing trade arrangements and provide legal stability in the post-Brexit environment. Addressing a ceremony held in Brussels, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, said the agreement marked an important milestone in strengthening technical cooperation, deepening economic relations, and reaffirming commitment to the multilateral trading system between Pakistan and the European Union.
He said the agreement would not only maintain the continuity of existing trade arrangements but would also create opportunities for further cooperation under a rules-based global trading framework in the future.
The ambassador added that the European Union remains a key trading partner for Pakistan, and agreements of this nature help build confidence and stability for the business communities on both sides.
