Islamabad: Renowned business figures Chairman of Gulf group Syed Ahmed, Shoeb Ahmed and Ali Furqan hosted a diplomatic reception in honour of Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh. A large number of ambassadors and high commissioners attended the reception.
Diplomats from Norway, Morocco, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Poland, South Korea, Germany, Thailand, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, France, Indonesia, and Japan were present on the occasion.
Addressing the diplomatic community, the minister briefed participants on Pakistan’s mediation efforts led by its civil and military leadership, which helped avert a potential war in the region and brought the United States and Iran to the negotiating table.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said that Pakistan not only facilitated a ceasefire between the United States, Israel, and Iran, but also helped prevent a broader global conflict.
He further stated that Islamabad’s mediation initiative has received global support, as the conflict had implications for the entire world.
Minister emphasized that the international community must continue to monitor the situation and play its role to ensure that the parties adhere to the ceasefire agreement, paving the way for a lasting and peaceful resolution in the region.
