SRINAGAR, DEC 14 (DNA) — In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Hurriyat leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, has called for an urgent resolution of the Kashmir dispute through sustained and result-oriented talks between Pakistan and India to avert global catastrophe.
Professor Abdul Ghani Butt during his visit to the residence of Hurriyat leader Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil in Sopore expressed fear that the Kashmir dispute if spiraled out of control can prove disastrous for peace of the entire world as it involves three nuclear powers Pakistan, India and China.
He pointed out the changing geopolitical situation in the world warrants settlement of the Kashmir dispute. He denounced the violation of human rights by India in the territory.
Besides Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, others who visited Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil included Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi, Abdul Ahad Parra, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, delegations of Mehaz-e-Azadi, Peoples League and Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement. The leaders expressed condolence with him over the death of father.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of International Forum for Justice Human Rights J&K, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, visited the family of Muneera Banoo, mother of jailed Aijaz Ahmed Naik, the sole bread-earner of his family. Muneera Banoo passed away on Wednesday morning, ending her four-year-long wait for her incarcerated son. He demanded the release of Aijaz Ahmed Naik. =DNA
