Pakistan invites Rwanda to historic speakers’ conference in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, AUG 5 /DNA/ – Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, visited the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to formally present an official invitation to the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC)—a groundbreaking diplomatic and parliamentary initiative being hosted in Islamabad, Pakistan. The Advisor was accompanied by Senior Director General Protocol Tariq Bin Waheed during the meeting.

The ISC represents a newly established inter-governmental, inter-parliamentary, multilateral forum designed to foster meaningful dialogue among global parliamentary leaders. Rooted in a shared vision of global unity, peace, and prosperity, the ISC seeks to create a platform for collaboration on critical global challenges, including the climate crisis, water and energy security, and inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The first-ever Speakers’ Conference under the ISC banner is scheduled to be held in Islamabad from 11th to 12th November 2025, and will bring together Speakers and Presiding Officers of Parliaments from across the world.

During her meeting with the Rwandan Ambassador, Ms. Khar emphasized the importance of Rwanda’s participation in this historic event and highlighted the role of the ISC in strengthening global parliamentary diplomacy.

Pakistan takes pride in hosting this landmark event and looks forward to welcoming delegates from across continents for a shared commitment to dialogue, collaboration, and a more peaceful and equitable global future.
