ASTANA, MAY 20 /DNA/ – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev in Astana today. They discussed recent events in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, focusing on the welfare of Pakistani nationals, especially students affected by Friday’s incidents.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized Pakistan’s concern for the security of its citizens and requested protection for Pakistani students. He also urged accountability for those responsible for the attacks.
Foreign Minister Kulubaev assured swift action by the Kyrgyz government to restore order and punish the perpetrators. He promised safety for Pakistani nationals and support for students wishing to return to Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar praised the Kyrgyz government, health department, and law enforcement agencies for their assistance. He stressed the importance of ongoing communication between the two countries.
They also discussed strengthening bilateral relations in energy, connectivity, trade, and people-to-people contacts, expressing satisfaction with the progress made.
