LAHORE, JUN 18: The departure of a Pakistan Railways freight train scheduled to leave Lahore for Russia on June 22 has been cancelled due to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
Railway authorities confirmed that the closure of international borders caused by the war has made the journey impossible at this time.
According to railway sources, the freight train, comprising 16 wagons, was set to transport containers carrying various goods to Russia via Iran, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
Officials stated that the train will only depart once the war ends and the security situation improves.
It is pertinent to note that the train would be the first freight train from Pakistan to Russia along this route.
