Pakistan secure third gold medal at Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship

DOHA, MAY 30: Pakistan won their third gold medal at the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship in Doha, Qatar, where athlete Kashif Rehan triumphed in the 102kg weight category.

Rehan, competing in the 45-year age group, secured the medal for his country by lifting a total of 170kg. According to event officials, Rehan successfully lifted 70kg in the snatch and 100kg in the clean and jerk.

The victory brought Pakistan’s total medal count at the event to four, including three golds and one bronze. Rehan’s performance has been widely appreciated by the national weightlifting community.

The competition, which is being held in Doha, Qatar, will continue until May 31. Pakistan’s female athletes, including Neelam Riaz, Sabeel Sohail, and Nadia Maqsood, are also scheduled to compete in upcoming events.
