ISLAMABAD, Aug 9: Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari on Sunday termed the joint defence agreement between Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia a matter of honour and pride for the Pakistani people, describing the cooperation among the three important countries as a significant development for regional peace and security.
In a statement, the minister said Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia possessed significant financial resources, military strength and capabilities to protect themselves, adding that their unity was aimed at strengthening deterrence and promoting peace in the region.
He said the three countries would work together to protect each other and stand united against any unlawful aggression or hostile action, while ensuring the safety and security of their peoples.
The minister said the combined strength of the three countries would enable them to collectively respond to any aggression and create a strong deterrent against hostile actions against any of them, either within or beyond the region.
He said the defence cooperation also reflected the shared commitment to the protection of the Holy Mosques as well as the security of the peoples of Türkiye and Pakistan, demonstrating the mutual trust and fraternal bonds among the three countries.
The federal minister congratulated the peoples, leaderships and governments of Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia on the important agreement and prayed that Allah Almighty would keep the unity and alliance among the three brotherly countries strong and enduring.
