Pakistan Ulema Council issues peace code for Muharram-ul-Harram

ISLAMABAD, JUN 23 /DNA/  – Pakistan Ulema Councl issued Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct to ensure peace, law and order during the month of Muharram-ul-Harram with the coordination of leading scholars of all the religious sects of the country.

In the chair of Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, President International Interfaith Harmony Council, the leadership of different religious sects issued Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct.

The Uleme Mashaykh from all the religious sections of the country agreed to follow the code of conduct to ensure peace and religious harmony during the month of Muharram-ul Haram.

The religious scholars said that any individual violating the code of conduct will not be supported at any forum.

With the coordination and support of Ulema-Mashaykh of different religious sections of the country, Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct was issued here in the chair of Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi.

The meeting was attended by leading Ulemas Mashayakh of the country including Allama Arif Wahidi, Pir Naqeebur Rehman, Sahibzada Hassan Hasibur Rehman, Maulana Nauman Hashir, Allama Tahirul Hassan, Maulana Abu Bakar Sabri, Maulana Munibur Rehman, Qari Mubashar Raheemi,  Maulans Tahir Aqeel Awan, Maulans Aziz Ur Rehman Mahavia, Maulans Matloob Mahar, Maulana Qasim Sangi and others.

The meeting vehemently condemned Israeli aggression against Iran adding that Israel and its allied forces working for the conspiracy of Greater Israel adding that Iran is Pakistan’s neighboring Muslim country and Iran has the right as per International Laws to protect itself.

The meeting noted that Islamic world has adopted a solid stance in the leadership of Saudi Arabia and the position of Pakistan on Iran situation is according to the wish of the people of Pakistan.

The meeting announced to assure Iranian people and the government of Iran full support of Pakistan and it’s people. The meeting also lauds the efforts on part of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Russia for making efforts to conclude the war

The meeting also demanded of China, Russia, United Nations, European Union and OIC to play their respective role for the rights of the people of Palestine. The world community should play its responsible role against the conspiracies of India and Israel.

The meeting also issued Code of Conduct to ensure peace, harmony and law and order in the country during the month of Muharram-ul-Haram.

Main Points of “Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct”:

 1) Sectarian hatred, armed sectarian violence and the practices of imposing one’s ideologies on others through force and coercion is contrary to the rules of Islamic Shariat and fanning anarchy and chaos is a national crime.

2) It is dutiful to observe the sanctity of the Prophets of Allah, the Companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), the wives of the Holy Prophet and the Ahlul Bayt. And the person who violates and blasphemes these sacred things is condemned by all schools of thought, and the law should take immediate action against such a person. 

3) The usage of foul and abusive language against the faithful and adherents of different religious sects is Haraam (forbidden). Similarly, fanning hatred, provocation and imposing one’s ideologies on others forcefully through coercion and harming the lives of one another on account of sectarian differences is forbidden according to the Islamic law and Shari’ah.  And the religious scholars, Ulemas-Mashaykh from across the country declare their dissociation from such elements. All the religious sects of the country and all the Ulemas Mashayakh of the country reject extremism in every form.

4) It is the duty of the Ulemas-Mashaykh and religious scholars to educate people about the distinction between right and wrong views. While declaring someone as an infidel (Takfir) is the jurisdiction of the state, which will be determined by the state according to the Islamic Shari’a.

5) All non-Muslim citizens of Pakistan have full right to worship and are allowed to practice their religious rituals in their worship places on the occasion of their festivals. And the rights given to non-Muslim citizens by the Constitution of Pakistan can’t be usurp by any individual, group or party and organization.

6) It is not permissible to kill those non-Muslims who live peacefully in the Islamic state, but it is a sin and those who violate the constitution of Pakistan and the laws of Pakistan, it is the responsibility of the state to punish them under the law.

 7) According to Islam, it is important for everyone to respect women and protect their rights. Giving women the right to inheritance and educating women has been ordered by the Islamic Sharia.

 8) During the months of Muharram-ul-Haram and Safar-ul-Muzaffar, all the citizens will be allowed as per law to hold their respective Majalis and religious gatherings. All such gathering and congregations should be held with proper permission and all respective legalities should be fulfilled to ensure sanctity of that particular place.

 09)  The people in their respective areas, Muhallas and streets should be vigilant on suspected people with the emotions of mutual respect and honour The Muslims of all the religious sects should help and assist each other to observe these holy months as per their respective religious sentiments.

  10) All the religious scholars, Ulemas and Zakireen should behold their responsibilities to unte the Muslim Ummah and needs to be vigilant on the suspected individuals and all the miscreants should be handed over to the respective local district administrations.

11) It is understood that Ulemas and religious scholars of all the religious sects should educate the faithful of their respective religious sects about the clarity of their religious sentiments

in a responsible way that derogatory remarks about any personality of the Muslim world should not be made. The religious scholars in their respective narrative should not target any respective religious orator and religious scholar.

 12)  Al the media organizations of the country are requested to highlight ‘Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct’ during the days of Muharram-ul-Haram and play their responsible role for the unity of Muslim Ummah. All the platforms of social  media, print media an electronic media should play their responsible role to identify suspect speech and writing and inform the respective administration about particular elements.

All the Ulemas-Mashaykh from their respective religious sects should play their responsible role to eradicate the menace of terrorism, extremism and intolerance and ensure coordination with the respective state institutions.

All the religious and political organizations of the country should pursue unanimous policy to ensure peace, harmony and economic stability in the country.
