PARIS: Pakistani athlete Haider Ali, who hails from Gujranwala, threw the season-best discus with 52.28 meters in the first throw of the final of Men’s Discus Throw and became a strong contender to win the gold medal at the Paralympics.

The competition for discus throws is underway in Paris.

The brave athlete is living with Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of conditions that affect movement and posture, typically caused by damage that occurs to the developing brain, most often before birth, according to Mayo Clinic.
