Pakistani delegation signs 'Universal Peace Charter' at Cambodia conference

ISLAMABAD, NOV 25: /DNA/ – Senator Danesh Kumar , while addressing the 1st Plenary session ” Advancing Global Architecture of peace , peacebulding, reconciliation & tolerance: Synergy of governments, parliaments and civil society” in Cambodia  said that our collective efforts to promote peace and harmony hold great importance in a world divided by conflict and inequality. He further said that  governments, parliaments, and civil society have unique roles in building peaceful societies. Senator Danesh Kumar and Misbah Khar Advisor to the Chairman Senate are representing Pakistan in the conference being held in Cambodia.

He underscored the need to work together to effectively address common challenges.

“In Pakistan, our journey toward peace and reconciliation is ongoing. Despite huge human and economic losses as a result of terrorism, Pakistan remains committed to unity and understanding. We shall continue our efforts to combat terrorism and restore social harmony” Danesh Kumar observed while highlighting Pakistan’s stance.

He called for an inclusive approach on the part of governments and parliaments to advance tolerance. He remarked that education and dialogue are vital for building understanding. He observed that  Pakistan believes in the power of international cooperation to overcome common challenges.

He termed the session a great opportunity to reflect on shared goals and responsibilities to ensure a peaceful future for our present and future generations.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Senator Danesh Kumar and Ms Misbah Khar , Advisor also signed “Universal peace charter : For people and the planet”  on the occasion. Former Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed was also present during the signing ceremony .

Pakistani delegation comprising of Senator Danesh Kumar and Misbah Khar , Advisor to the Chairman Senate,later on, held a meeting with President of the Cambodian National Assembly emphasizing the need for enhanced institutional cooperation and linkages. Senator Danesh Kumar observed that Parliamentary diplomacy carries huge importance in bringing people of the two sides closer and promoting people to people contacts . The President of the Cambodian National Assembly thanked the Pakistani side for a vocal stance and active participation in the conference.
