ROME, AUG 24: The Pakistani Embassy introduced ‘Chaunsa Gelato’ at an Independence Day celebration held in Piazza Navona, in collaboration with Rome’s most popular gelato company.
The owner of the gelato brand praised the sweetness, texture and aroma of the Pakistani Chaunsa mango, describing its natural sugar content as remarkable. Fabrizio expressed that the mango was ideal for creating a high-quality gelato.
Ambassador Ali Javed commended Fabrizio for the successful fusion of Pakistani mango with Italian gelato craftsmanship. He offered future collaboration featuring premium Pakistani produce, including thin-shelled almonds, freshly harvested walnuts, apricot kernels, and saffron from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Ambassador also referred to Pakistan’s long-grain pine nuts, regarded by experts as among the finest dried fruits globally.
He explained that Pakistan’s National Day in March coincides with the citrus season, and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to presenting Kinnow oranges as a gift for a potential ‘Kinnow Gelato’ project in partnership with Frigidarium.
Fabrizio affirmed his intention to expand the gelato tradition across new frontiers through this partnership.
The Chaunsa Gelato Festival drew attention from a wide audience, including members of the public, diplomats, business figures, and officials invited by the embassy.
The event reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to promoting Pakistan’s premium agricultural products. It formed part of the series of activities aimed at involving Italian civil society in the celebrations of Pakistan’s Independence Day and the Day of the Defence of the Nation.
