ISLAMABAD, Mar 29: Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad on Sunday reaffirmed confidence in Pakistan’s economic management amid war-related concerns, highlighting steady progress in oil stability and emphasizing that Pakistan’s growing mediator role is helping shift its image positively, while urging national unity to strengthen the country’s constructive position in the evolving situation.
While speaking to a local news channel, Advisor said Pakistan has effectively played the role of a mediator in the current situation, earning international recognition and contributing to easing tensions.
He noted that key challenges, including oil and broader economic pressures, are gradually moving toward resolution as conditions improve.
He highlighted that the government responded proactively by introducing prudent austerity measures, focusing on fiscal discipline, prioritizing essential spending and ensuring that available resources are utilized efficiently despite existing constraints.
Schehzad emphasized that although the country is operating with limited financial capacity, careful planning and responsible decision-making have helped maintain stability and prevent further crises, particularly in the energy sector.
He also stressed that national unity is crucial at this stage, urging all stakeholders including private sector to stand together to reinforce Pakistan’s constructive global role and to support ongoing efforts aimed at economic resilience and long-term stability.
Responding to a query about the oil situation, Khurram Schehzad said that sufficient stocks are currently available and arrangements for April are also being secured, assuring that no crisis is expected in the coming weeks.
