Pakistan’s successful global peace diplomacy matter of pride for entire nation, PM aide

ISLAMABAD, Jun 22: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Heritage and Culture, Huzaifa Rehman on Monday termed United States Vice President JD Vance’s praise for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir a matter of pride for the entire nation, saying it reflected Pakistan’s growing international stature and constructive role in promoting regional peace.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, he said JD Vance’s remarks, in which he described Field Marshal Asim Munir as the most impressive person he had spoken to in the past three months, were a recognition of Pakistan’s leadership and diplomacy.

He underscored that Pakistan had played a significant role in facilitating dialogue and peace efforts in the region.

Referring to negotiations held in Islamabad, he claimed there was a crucial 22-hour period during which intensive diplomatic engagement took place following JD Vance’s arrival and before the departure of the Iranian delegation.

He said Pakistan remained committed to supporting every initiative aimed at ensuring peace and stability, adding that the country’s leadership had consistently worked to bridge differences through dialogue.

He also referred to the recent understanding reached in Switzerland, saying that despite decades of differences between the United States and Iran, Pakistan had helped facilitate discussions with wisdom and grace. He expressed optimism that progress would continue on the agreed points and that the peace process would move forward successfully.
