Paris Olympics 2024: Japan and Australia lead gold medal count

PARIS, JUL 29: On the second day of the Paris Olympics 2024 on Sunday, 13 more gold medals were awarded, with Japan and Australia leading the tally with four golds each on the points table.

The battle for medals continues in the Olympics, where after two days of competitions, Japan has clinched four gold, two silver and a bronze medal. Australia is trailing behind with an equal number of four gold medals and two bronze, totalling with six medals.

In terms of the overall medals won so far, the USA leads the charts with 12 — three gold and bronze each, and six silver medals.

Host country France has won a total of eight medals so far, with three gold, three silver and two bronze. Korea has won three gold, two silver and a bronze, while China has grabbed three gold medals, a silver, and two bronze medals.

Italy has won a gold, two silver and three bronze medals. Kazakhstan has a gold and two bronze medals to its credit so far, while Belgium has won a gold and bronze each.

Germany, Hong Kong and Uzbekistan have so far won one gold medal each, Great Britain two silver and two bronze, Brazil a silver and two bronze, while Canada has won a silver and a bronze.
