Passing Out Parade of ASPs at NPA Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, NOV 6 (DNA): An impressive Passing Out Parade of the ASP (UT) of 27th STP was held at National Police Academy (NPA) Islamabad. Honorable Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, was the chief guest on the occasion.

The Chief Guest congratulated the graduating officers on their successful completion of their basic training. He appreciated the role of NPA in the training of law officers of Police Service of Pakistan. He said that police officers during their service facing diversified challenges for protection of life and property, curbing of crimes, and enforcement of law in the country and for social advancement. He appreciated the Police Service of Pakistan for its sacrifices in the war against terrorism and maintenance of order. The Chief Guest emphasized the strong bond of friendship and brotherhood between the two nations.

Earlier, Mr. Muhammad Idrees Ahmed, Commandant NPA in his welcome address expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest for sparing time for NPA and the graduating officers and said that this passing out batch consisted of 81 officers, including 68 lady officers in the course that marks the culmination of a rigorous 18 months calendar which incorporates extensive academic subjects including various aspects of police management, criminal justice administration, law enforcement, community policing, crime management and policing by objective, physical training as well as use of information and communication technologies. The basic endeavour of the National Police Academy also incorporates the latest research in its curriculum so that the officers are abreast of modern techniques in the fields of police science, security management and law enforcement. The course also includes anti-terrorism training for Assistant Superintendents of Police.

Commandant NPA also stated that the NPA’s mission is to impart best possible training not only to the Assistant Superintendents of Police but to all segments of law enforcement. He said that keeping in view the diverse law enforcement challenges being faced in the context of both internal and external security, it is vital that the police force is trained to meet the requirements of the modern era and order. We have developed capacity building courses for all law enforcement agencies including Frontier Constabulary, FIA, Intelligence Bureau, Punjab and Sindh Rangers, as well as Intelligence Bureau officers, etc.

The Commandant in his concluding remarks said that the officer graduating today should carry the best traditions of discipline, service, dedication and hard work as the best person for the assigned job. He remarked that they are the ambassadors of the Police Service of Pakistan.
