ISLAMABAD, OCT 19: The date for the privatisation of the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) bid has been extended from October 30 to November 17, sources said.
Significant progress has been made in the privatisation of the national airline. Four consortiums have qualified to enter the bidding phase of the privatisation process. Arif Habib Limited, Fauji Fertilizer Company, Airblue and Lucky Group remain in contention for the national procurement.
The privatisation of the national airline is expected to reach its final stage next month. The consortiums have requested the government to ease certain terms and conditions set for the sale.
The government plans to sell between 51 and 100 per cent of the national airline’s shares.
