ATTOCK, JUL 28: /DNA/ – Following the statement by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi that only those will be allowed to visit the holy sites who travel by air, and that road travel will not be permitted, there is a wave of anger and disappointment among the pilgrims who had planned to travel by road.
Hundreds of pilgrims from Attock who intended to travel to Karbala by road have raised questions to the Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, saying:
“We have already made payments to our agents for traveling by road and have also submitted our visa fees. Now suddenly, the Federal Interior Minister feels there are security threats. Was the Government of Pakistan asleep before? The federal government must immediately find a solution.
We are poor people and cannot afford air travel. We have borrowed money to fulfill our desire to visit the house of our Master (Imam). We considered ourselves among the blessed ones who would undertake this sacred journey.
Therefore, we urge the federal government to provide us security and allow us to fulfill our heartfelt wish.”
