Islamabad — Principal Information Officer (PIO) Raisa Adil visited the National Press Club Islamabad, where she was warmly received by President Abdul Razzaq Sial, Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao, Finance Secretary Abid Abbasi, and other office bearers.
During a special session with women journalists, Raisa Adil announced initiatives to address their professional challenges and introduce training programs.
She emphasized that the Pakistan Information Service Academy will launch courses on freelancing, digital media, climate reporting, and modern journalistic skills to help journalists adapt to the rapidly evolving media landscape. Highlighting the importance of capacity building, she stressed that empowering women journalists is a pressing need in the digital era.
Adil assured participants that she would raise their concerns with relevant authorities and extend full cooperation.
She also underscored the necessity of facilities such as a dedicated ladies’ room, rest area, and daycare center at the Press Club, promising to advocate for these proposals. Furthermore, she supported the idea of accreditation cards, health cards, and a Women Journalists Help Desk at the Press Information Department.
The event was attended by a large number of Press Club members, including senior journalists and women representatives.
A question-and-answer session allowed female journalists to share issues such as difficulties in obtaining accreditation cards. At the conclusion, Raisa Adil was presented with a commemorative shield by the National Press Club.
