Attock, February 15: Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Attock, Anil Saeed, has stated that eliminating the use of plastic is crucial for the country. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of the Plastic Management Committee. The meeting was attended by Secretary RTA Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan, Chief Officer Municipal Committee Attock Sardar Aftab Ahmed Khan, Deputy Director Environment Rabia Nosheen, representatives of trade unions, and other officials.
Relevant officers briefed the participants on the agenda. Addressing the meeting, ADCG Attock emphasized that while developed countries have successfully eliminated the use of plastic, it continues to be widely used in developing nations like Pakistan. The Punjab government has imposed a complete ban on plastic usage. He directed the participants to personally raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic and educate the public on its disadvantages. ADCG Anil Saeed further stated that the district administration is taking significant steps to make Attock a plastic-free district.
