PM Imran

delivers

farewell

speech

ISLAMABAD:  The Prime Minister Imran Khan in his speech on the national hook-up on Thursday appeared to be his last address to the nation as his body language suggested that he had foreseen the results of Sunday’s voting on the no-trust motion. On many occasions during the speech, the prime minister said he would not sit idle after removal from the office. The interesting feature of the speech was when he mistakenly mentioned America as the country that was responsible for the so called letter and threat to his government.

He then realized his faux pas and tried to cover up the matter but perhaps it was too late. The media immediately picked up his words and started airing his statement as breaking news. Anyhow, it does make any difference as everybody knew that it was the USA, which was being referred to as the country that reportedly had hurled threats to the PTI government through the then Pakistan ambassador to the US Asad Majeed.

There was nothing new in his speech except his assertions that he had to face wrath of the super power because of his inclination towards Russia. Realistically speaking it may be an aspect but not the whole truth. There are certain others factors as well that contributed towards his removal. Those factors are so strong that despite being a bold and audacious person, he could not mention them in his speech. He is all set to be a strong opposition leader. There is a common view about him that he is much more effective as the opposition leader.
