PM hails Transparency International's report on public perception of corruption in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, Dec 9 (APP/DNA):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed satisfaction over Transparency International’s report on public perception of corruption in Pakistan. 

According to the survey, a large segment of the public expressed the opinion that they did not face corruption during current government.

“This public view is an acknowledgment of our efforts in the fight against corruption and the promotion of transparency”, the prime minister said in a statement issued by the PM House.

He emphasized that a majority of the people termed the government’s measures for economic recovery a success, which he said was extremely encouraging.

This report by Transparency International is proof of the success of the reforms introduced by the government, the prime minister said adding “We have worked on a priority basis to establish a system rich in merit and transparency in every sector of the government, and we are continuing to work in this direction”.

He said improving economic indicators, reforms, and the public’s positive opinion of government policies and measures were the result of teamwork. He also commended the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and their teams.

The journey from economic stability to growth has already begun, he said vowing to further improve the country’s economy, provide the best services to the public, and completely eliminate corruption.
