PM Shehbaz hails launch of satellite

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended heartfelt congratulations to SUPARCO and the entire team involved in the successful launch of Pakistan’s advanced remote sensing satellite, calling it a milestone in the country’s space ambitions and a testament to the strength of Pakistan-China cooperation.

“This achievement showcases the soaring heights of Pakistan-China cooperation, extending beyond borders and into outer space, driven by a shared vision to harness space technology for the betterment of humanity,” the Prime Minister said in a statement.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the newly launched satellite will bring wide-ranging benefits, particularly for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It is expected to play a vital role in areas such as agriculture, urban planning, disaster management, environmental monitoring, and the mapping of transportation and infrastructure networks.

“The satellite will greatly enhance our capacity for data acquisition in various environmental and geographical settings, ultimately aiding national development and policy planning,” he added.

Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep gratitude to China for its technical assistance and unwavering support in advancing Pakistan’s space program. He said the collaboration between SUPARCO and its Chinese counterparts reflects the enduring friendship between the two nations and their shared aspirations for scientific progress.

He termed the satellite launch as a symbol of hope and progress, paving the way for new avenues of scientific exploration, innovation, and international cooperation.

The remote sensing satellite, developed in partnership with China, marks a significant leap forward in Pakistan’s space capabilities and is expected to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development and strategic preparedness.
