ISLAMABAD, AUG 14: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured the nation that a reduction in electricity prices will be announced in the coming days.
Speaking at the Independence Day ceremony, the Prime Minister a ceremony held at PNCA also revealed plans to present a comprehensive five-year economic program aimed at addressing the country’s financial challenges.
During his speech, PM Shehbaz Sharif vowed to combat inflation, reduce electricity costs, and promote the development of Pakistan. He extended Independence Day greetings to the nation, honoring the sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans who fought for the country’s freedom in 1947.
“The next few years are crucial for you and the country, so only focus on your studies and attaining skilled-based education, and do not indulge yourself in the negative agenda of the enemy who is out to target you and utilize your capabilities in anti-state activities,” he asked the youth while addressing a ceremony held here in connection with the independence day celebrations.
Unfortunately, he said the enemy was now using digital terrorism tools to sabotage the country’s development journey.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the ongoing economic struggles, noting that sectors have continued to decline. He emphasized the need for accountability and future planning, recognizing that the public is burdened by inflation and unemployment.
PM Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to embark on a new journey, leaving behind past failures, and striving for a brighter future.
Highlighting the importance of reducing electricity bills, he stated that industrial growth and increased exports are impossible without addressing this issue.
He also pointed out that Pakistan, once ahead of China, has fallen behind and stressed the need to counter external threats, including digital misinformation.
Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to working tirelessly for Pakistan’s economic development and expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Palestine, promising continued support until their independence is achieved.
