KARACHI: The Portuguese feature film “SNU”, directed by renowned filmmaker Patrícia Sequeira, is set to be screened at the European Film Festival Pakistan 2025 on 16 November at the Karachi Film School. The screening will take place in the Main Hall from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Presented by the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad and Camões, I.P., the film is being showcased in collaboration with the European Union Delegation to Pakistan and Olomopolo Media as part of the festival’s cultural exchange initiatives.

SNU recounts the compelling life of Snu Abecassis, a visionary publisher and a transformative figure in post-revolution Portugal, alongside Francisco Sá Carneiro, one of the country’s most influential political leaders and the founder of a major political party. Their paths intertwine in a powerful and emotional relationship set against the backdrop of Portugal’s turbulent and defining period of political and social change.

The film highlights themes of love, courage, and the pursuit of reform at a time when Portugal was undergoing historic transformation. Organizers say the screening aims to bring Pakistani audiences closer to European history, art, and storytelling through cinema.

The event is open to film enthusiasts, students, and the general public as part of the European Film Festival’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural understanding through cinematic expression.
