ISLAMABAD, JAN 30 (DNA) – President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Qaiser Iqbal Baryar called on the Federal Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati at Islamabad. Explaining the export status of Sialkot, the President said that Sialkot is the only export city of Pakistan where 99% of the manufactured products are exported abroad. He said that at present an average of 3223 export consignments weighing more than ten and a half thousand tonnes and their value in Pakistani rupees more than 19 thousand million are being shipped from Sialkot Dry Port Trust on monthly basis.
During the meeting, the President also suggested to the Railway Minister that the launch of a cargo express train from Sialkot to Karachi and from Karachi to Sialkot would be very beneficial for the railway department and the export industry of Sialkot.
Delivery of exported goods from Sialkot to Karachi port and transfer of imported raw material from Karachi to Sialkot port will provide vast business to the railway department and provide timely, safe and fast traditional means of transportation to the business community of Sialkot for timely delivery of exported goods. Pregnancy will be available.
President Chamber Qaiser Iqbal Baryar further said that Sialkot Chamber is ready to work with the Ministry of Railways to provide fast and affordable logistical services to the exporters of Sialkot. During the meeting with the Railway Minister, the President also presented the required figures related to consignments and container loads being sent from Sialkot to Karachi Port.=DNA
