Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif spoke today with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council/ Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and conveyed deepest condolences on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan over the loss of precious lives and property due to the devastating earthquake in Myanmar on 28 March, 2025.
The Prime Minister assured the Prime Minister of Myanmar that Pakistan stood ready to provide any assistance to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the earthquake. He also informed the Myanmar side that, upon his directions, National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan would be dispatching around 70 tons of relief goods to Myanmar, in two sorties that would arrive within the next 48 hours, to help the earthquake affected people.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence in the resilience of the people of Myanmar and hoped that they would soon overcome this natural calamity.
The Prime Minister of Myanmar appreciated the kind gesture on the part of the Prime Minister and people of Pakistan and thanked them for standing with the people of Myanmar in this hour of need.
