PSB Reshuffle: Omer Farooq Rana Appointed as New Deputy Director General (Admin)

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has removed its Deputy Director General (Admin), Muhammad Shahid Islam, with immediate effect and appointed Omer Farooq Rana from the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation & Coordination as his replacement for a period of three years.

Shahid, who was recently reinstated after serving a three-month suspension imposed by the Federal Secretary Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) for misguiding senior officials over the credentials of a kabaddi player, has now been confined to overseeing only the rehabilitation and treatment wing of PSB.

According to an official notification: “In pursuance of Cabinet Secretariat (Establishment Division) Notification No.1/420/2024-E-4 and Ministry of IPC Office Order F.No. 11-8/2014-1PCS-I-Admn, the services of Omer Farooq Rana, Director (BS-19), Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation & Coordination, Islamabad, have been placed against the vacant post of Deputy Director General (Admn), BPS-19, in Pakistan Sports Board on deputation basis for a period of three years on standard terms and conditions or until the availability of a regular incumbent, whichever is earlier.”

Meanwhile, PSB also announced several transfers and postings with immediate effect. Abdul Samad (Superintendent, G&G, BPS-17) has been transferred from PSB Headquarters Islamabad to the PSB Coaching Centre, Lahore. Sami-ur-Rehman (Superintendent, BPS-16) has been shifted from PSB Coaching Centre Karachi to PSB Headquarters Islamabad. Aamir Mehmood Siddiqui (Superintendent, Hostel, BPS-16) has been moved from PSB Headquarters Islamabad to PSB Coaching Centre Peshawar, while Abdul Rashid (Waiter) has been posted from PSB Headquarters Islamabad to the PSB Coaching Centre Lahore.
