Punjab government prioritises ending child labour

ATTOCK :The monthly meeting of the District Vigilance Committee Attock was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner General Attock, Anil Saeed. District Officer Labour, Adnan Ahmed, along with officers from relevant departments, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the District Officer Labour briefed the participants in detail about the ongoing measures in the district for the elimination of bonded labour, enforcement of minimum wages, prevention of child labour, and protection of the rights of workers employed in factories and workshops.

Addressing the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner General said that protecting the rights of workers is a top priority of the Government of Punjab, and that all departments should ensure effective measures through mutual cooperation.

He directed that strict monitoring be ensured at the field level to eradicate bonded and child labour, and strict action should be taken against those who violate the law.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner General further stated that the district administration will utilize all available resources to safeguard the rights of the working class and improve overall performance.
