ISLAMABAD, JUL 16: The Punjab government approved on Wednesday funding worth Rs26.77billion for a range of development projects in the health sector.
At its 7th meeting, the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) sanctioned multiple initiatives aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure and services. The meeting was attended by P&D Board Secretary Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and officers from relevant departments.
Key allocations have included Rs7.70 billion for the procurement of medical equipment for the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology, and Rs3.83 billion for similar equipment at the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha.
Additionally, Rs6.84 billion have been approved for the renovation and upgrading of hospitals under the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department. A further Rs8.39 billion will be directed towards the construction and refurbishment of the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Hafizabad.
