LAHORE, OCT 28: The Punjab government has sent a letter to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration, expressing concern that the movement of wheat and flour between provinces is being given an unnecessary political angle.
According to the letter, Punjab has not imposed any restrictions on the inter-provincial transport of wheat or flour. The document made it clear that formal permits have been issued to ensure the lawful and transparent movement of the commodity.
The purpose of issuing these permits, the letter adds, is to prevent hoarding, smuggling and profiteering.
The communication comes in response to allegations from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister regarding the handling of wheat supplies. Punjab maintained that all measures have been taken within legal and administrative frameworks to ensure a fair and uninterrupted supply chain.
