Punjab law minister chairs Muharram security meeting in Attock

ATTOCK, JUL 1 /DNA/ – Following the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab, the Provincial Law Minister, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bherth, chaired a high-level meeting to review and finalize arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram in District Attock.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Deputy Commissioner Attock, District Police Officer Attock, and heads of all relevant administrative departments. Public representatives from Pakistan Muslim League (N) were also present.

The Law Minister issued clear instructions to ensure the peaceful and dignified observance of Muharram-ul-Haram, in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister. He emphasized the provision of essential facilities such as mobile sabeels and toilets for participants of the processions, and directed that any shortcomings in security or administrative planning be promptly addressed.

Subsequently, the Minister held a separate meeting with members of the District Peace Committee and religious scholars (ulema) from the Ahl-e-Tashi community to promote interfaith harmony and mutual coordination during the holy month.

Following the meetings, the Law Minister visited the Punjab Safe City Control Room at the DPO Office to review surveillance and monitoring arrangements.

He also inspected the ongoing construction work at the Inter-Provincial Joint Checkpost in Attock Khurd, and later visited a flood-prone site along the Indus River near Attock Khurd, where he directed the concerned departments to remain alert and take necessary preventive measures.
