LAHORE, DEC 10 (DNA) — Good news for those planning to apply for driving licenses as from tomorrow they will also be able to get their licenses online.
According to traffic police, citizens will be able to get learners, international licenses and their old licenses renewed as a special application to be used for the purpose is in final stages of its preparation.
People will now also have the facility to get learners from the front desks of police stations. In view of the action being taken by traffic police against those driving without licenses, a great rush of people is being witnessed at Khidmat Centres.
More than 95,000 driving licences, a record, were issued to citizens throughout Punjab in one day. According to a traffic police spokesman, the record number of licences which were issued on Saturday including learning, national, international and extensions.
Only in Lahore, about 21,600 driving licences were issued in Lahore, 6,758 in Faisalabad, 8,636 in Gujranwala, 7,141 in Rawalpindi, 6,583 in Multan and 3,000 in Sargodha. The spokesman further said that during the last six days over 515,000 citizens were issued driving lincences. — DNA
