Railways upgrades running rooms for guards, loco pilots in Khanewal

ISLAMABAD, Aug 17: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has taken another major step towards improving facilities for Pakistan Railways’ frontline staff with the successful completion of the upgradation of the guards running room and loco pilots running room in Khanewal.

Following the successful upgradation of the running rooms in Rawalpindi, the facilities in Khanewal have also been comprehensively renovated and upgraded on modern lines, said a news release.

The development marks the first comprehensive modernization and uplift of running rooms in the 79-year history of Pakistan Railways, providing guards and loco pilots with modern, comfortable and improved facilities.

The initiative has been undertaken with the special attention of Hanif Abbasi, who has made the welfare and better working conditions of railway guards and loco pilots a priority.

The upgraded running rooms in Khanewal are equipped with improved facilities aimed at providing railway employees with a comfortable environment during their rest periods.

The formal inauguration ceremony of the Khanewal running rooms will be held on August 22.

Hanif Abbasi has reiterated his commitment to providing hardworking railway employees with a better working environment, modern facilities and dignified working conditions.
