RAWALPINDI, 20 OCT (DNA) — The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has reported a total of 1,106 confirmed dengue cases in hospitals across the district so far during the year, with 13 new cases diagnosed during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 56 patients are currently under treatment in various hospitals.
According to the latest surveillance data released by the District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi, a total of 16,993 patients have been screened for dengue symptoms in local hospitals this year. The data highlights ongoing efforts to curb the spread amid the autumn season, when dengue transmission typically increases.
The mobile surveillance teams have have inspected 5.8 million houses, identifying 184,552 positive for mosquito breeding sites. Additionally, 1.63 million spots including water containers and drains during which resulted 25,343 positive and a total of 209,895 larvae destroyed.
Enforcing the compliance for SOPs, authorities have taken strict punitive actions including registering 4,572 First Information Reports (FIRs), sealing 1,868 premises, issuing 3,557 challans, and imposing fines totaling over Rs. 11 million. — DNA
