A delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), led by President Usman Shaukat, visited various low-lying areas and markets affected by recent heavy rains and urban flooding. The delegation included Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Executive Member Naveed Kanwal, former Vice President Faisal Shahzad and representatives from different market associations.
The team visited flood-affected areas including Gawalmandi, Raja Bazaar, Moti Bazaar, Bohar Bazaar, Mochi Bazaar, and Kalan Bazaar to assess the damage on-site. Local market office-bearers briefed the delegation about the losses suffered due to the rains.
President Usman Shaukat issued directions to the concerned authorities to ensure regular monitoring and cleaning of water drains during the monsoon season to prevent further damage.
He also urged traders and citizens to take precautionary measures during monsoon rains to safeguard life and property.–
